Thousands of people that come to the United States are now pushing the "common sense gun legislation". In an article (located as a source), the author feels as if there are many gun laws in the United States but questions whether or not they are being enforced or not. Guns are always going to be avaliable to people regardless if they hold a license to bear arms or not, because somehow somewhere they can always smuggle thier way through the United States. It is like drugs, whether they are illegal or not, people somehow someway still can get to it simply because "black marketing" takes place also known as smuggling. If a person needs some drugs, there will probably be some guy on the corner selling them, same stiuation goes for guns. If someone needs a gun, there probably will be a guy who owns a whole stock in his basement or a secret hiding place of some sort.
The black market for firearms only make criminals richer. Everyday firearms are smuggled in and out of the United States daily, which also shows a loop hole in our security system if people are aable to get it through. If people are driven to want "illgeal" products that bad, they will find a way to get it one way or another. Drugs, gambling, protestution, etc, have been around for a long time and still is simply because the law enforcement isn't strong enough to get rid of it and can't stop the people from getting it. They will always be around, simply because people who want those services or products are the cash rewards to the criminals commiting the illegal activity.
On another note, according to New York Times, there are high volume dealers who bring about 9/10 guns into the United States. They then sell it to the middle men who turns around and resell them to others in the lower class. The forces have managed to scope out about 140 gun stores throughout the nation that had supplied weapons that were used in 20% of the crimes commited in the United States.
"
In only 13 percent of the crimes, was the original buyer of the gun the person using it to commit a crime. In 87 percent of the crimes, the gun had changed hands, the report found.
''This proves that criminals get their guns almost exclusively through the unregulated secondary market where guns bought by someone with a clean record are quickly trafficked to criminals who cannot pass a Brady background check,'' Mr. Schumer said."
Mr. Schumar had done some research and found that high volume dealers usually have a clean record of buying the guns, but only some businesses came to an end when he did his research on certain people. Concluding the following:
"Mr. Schumer's study also found that 1 in 3 guns sold from the high-volume dealers was recovered in a crime within a year of being sold. Half were traced to crimes within two years of the original sale.
Nancy Hwa, a spokeswoman for Handgun Control, said the report ''illustrates where the black market comes from.'"
